Welcome to the ORBID blog
Why we're starting one, what to expect, and how we'll use it.
We've been head-down building ORBID for the last twelve months. Today we're opening a small window on the work: a blog that lives in the same place as the platform, written by the people you'll be working with.
What you'll find here
A few categories we expect to write about, in rough order of how often they come up in our day:
- Procurement field notes. What we learn from real Solar and BESS tenders running on ORBID — what works, what doesn't, where standard templates save weeks, where they get in the way.
- The European energy transition, from the inside. Grid connection queues, capacity markets, fire authority requirements for storage, permitting timelines per country. The unglamorous middle of the work.
- Product notes. When we ship something we're proud of (or something we got wrong), we'll say so.
What you won't find here
Press releases. SEO-bait listicles. AI-generated filler about energy trends.
Why a blog now
Three reasons. One: as the platform matures, we want a clearer way to share context with the EPCs, construction teams and developers in our network. Two: writing forces us to be specific about what we believe. Three: the rest of the company gets to see how we explain ORBID outside the deck.
If there's a topic you want us to cover, email us — we read everything.
